Tirupur dealers form IT association

Dealers in Tirupur got together to form the Tirupur Information Technology
Association (TITA).

K Babu, General Secretary said, “The sole reason for forming an association
is to be united and solve any issues amongst traders and also between dealers
and vendors.”

The association has been registered and has become a part of Confed-ITA.
There are around 170 dealers in the city and around 45 of them are registered
with the new association.

“Previously, a few dealers from Tirupur were part of the Coimbatore IT
Association. After keeping the importance of having our own association in mind,
we formed TITA. We expect 50 more partners to join us considering the importance
of an association,” Babu claimed.

TITA will organize technical training programs regularly. “Apart from solving
the issues, we feel that the association has to play a key role in the
development of our traders,” explained Babu. As an initial step there is going
to be a session on MS Vista in April and one on Linux in May.

Speaking on the formation of the association in Tirupur, K Ravichandran,
President, TITA said, “This association will eliminate the communication gap
that prevailed among traders in Tirupur. Normally, when there is a competition
between two traders, it affects their margins, apart from spoiling the market.
TITA would try to prevent that by emphasizing the concept of unity among our
dealers.”

He also informed that the association would stress the importance of buying
original software among end-users,” shared Ravichandran.
