For Progressive
Infotech, FY11 was a year of addition and deletion of product lines.
As part of revamping its business model, FY11 witnessed the exit of
Progressive Infotech from its PC business. As a result, it did not
grow in FY11, but rather focused on horizontal solutions and
services. Its core strength lies in infrastructure management,
manged services, and remote management services. Comparing its
revenue chart with FY10, it managed to rake in 15% growth, owing to
its foresightedness when planning the business strategy. Moreover,
during the downturn, this solution provider leveraged on key
verticals like government, which were still investing, and hence was
able to do good business. Last fiscal, Progressive Infotech
successfully opened subsidiaries in the UAE and Singapore. In India,
it increased its presence from 90 to 110 locations. It has a few
major projects this year too. In the last fiscal, Progressive and
NetApp proved to be lucrative partners. This partnership helped it
bag contracts from clients in the BFSI, government, and public
sectors. The company also foryed into South-East Asia in FY11. It is
now planning to enter the African market this year. It also
successfully implemented India's first private cloud vMotion at the
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
