Jamshedpur

Dearth of Transcend service centers in India is leading to misunderstandings
between resellers and customers. Six months back, Nilesh Dodrajka a reseller
near Jamshedpur bought a 512MB USB drive from BL Infotech.
The device started giving problems and was sent for replacement on the same
day.
“The USB drive started to give problems as it was not being recognized by
the operating system. I returned the device to BL Infotech on the same day,”
lamented Dodrajka.
On receiving the complaint, Ravi Agarwal of BL Infotech, Jamshedpur sent the
USB drive back to Alco Infotech in Kolkata from where he brought it. “As
Transcend does not have any service center in India, dealers are liable for the
warranty. As the device was under warranty, I sent it back to Alco Infotech
about four months back and till now, I have not received any feedback from them,”
Agarwal commented.
Irate after making repeated calls to Alco Infotech for the replacement,
Agarwal started questioning the quality of service that Alco Infotech is
providing. He gave a 2GB USB drive to Dodrajka as a standby from his own stock.
“I called up officials in Alco Infotech repeatedly but to no avail. It has
been over four months and Alco is refusing to commit on the replacement. I don't
know whom I should get in touch with for this issue. There is no representative
of Transcend here and Alco Infotech is not keen on sending the replacement,”
Agarwal added.
Refuting all charges of lapse in after-sales service, Pankaj Kedia, CEO, Alco
Infotech has refused to comment anything on this issue. Stating that he has not
received any official complain from BL Infotech for replacement, he said that
the USB drive had already been sent to Transcend for replacement and he too has
not received any feedback from Transcend.
