New Update

Last financial year, Transtek Infoways clocked a high growth of 27 percent.

This was a much needed growth for the company which posted negative growth
the year before.

The fact that the distributor was into importing did not impact its growth,
and the primary reason was the new additions to its kitty. The distributor
started dealing in memory cards.

It introduced SD micro cards, SD cards and CF cards, which are known to be
fast moving products. Transtek also began focusing on pendrives and RAM. There
was also an effort towards driving the sales of Genius keyboards and mice.

While adding these products, the distributor also expanded its partner
network and opened CNF offices in B and C-class cities. Helping in the company's
quest towards expansion was the fact that its associate partners were also
heading towards upcountry locations.

Upcountry has been a major focus area and in the current fiscal, this will
continue to be a focus. Being an importer, the dollar fluctuation was an area of
concern for Transtek. But the disti was able to sail through this situation by
bringing prices slightly down.

Leveraging on its strength of distributing branded products, the way forward
for Transtek is to expand its reach across the country. The company is primarily
into OEM business and as of now has no plans to get into selling its own branded
products.

For the current fiscal, Transtek plans to focus on areas in India that till
now it has seemingly neglected like East (Patna, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and
Kolkata) and West (Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat) markets which are fast
growing areas for the disti.

Moving forward, Transtek plans to consolidate its numbers and increase its
reach in India and penetrate the upcountry locations it did not have presence in
earlier.
