These printers are typically used to print large signs for outdoor and indoor
use. Uniform India will sell and support these large format digital printers
through channels partners, which will also include the IT channels.

"We see a huge business opportunity for our products in this country. In
India, I don't see any competing products that can match the performance and
quality of our products," said David Burton, MD, B&P Lightbrigade
Group.

Currently, it has made available only one model called the Grenadier in
India. This is priced at Rs 30 lakh for end-users. "As we go along, we
intend to introduce the complete range of printer and consumable in India,"
said Ajay Jaishankar, Associate VP, Sales and Marketing, who has been appointed
to head the Indian operations.

The company has also made provisions of high quality support and maintenance
services to all its customers. "We will have a dedicated team of trained
engineers at all important locations in the country and stock adequate spares to
quickly respond to customer needs," said Ajay.

According to the company, Uniform printers offer a true output resolution of
1440 x 1440 dpi, which is suitable for prolonged exterior use without the need
for lamination. "The print quality of Grenadier has already proved to be of
such a high standard that it is also suitable for interior point-of-sale
applications, reducing the costs of traditional water-based high-resolution
prints, which would need mounting and laminating," said David.
