UP channel pitching in for two-day band

Channel partners in Uttar Pradesh along with other business groups went on a
two-day strike directed by the UP Udyog Vyapar Mandal (UPUVM), demanding the
government to make VAT a simplified process and reduce the necessity of dealers
to fill up too many other forms like form C, form 31, form 32.

The channel community opined that they were in complete favor of VAT in UP,
but the other forms that proprietors are asked to fill should be done away with.

The Lucknow-based UPUVM represents members of all industries in the state.
Harsh Batra, Proprietor, Classic Communications, Ghaziabad, who is also a member
of UPUVM highlighted that IT channel partners fully support VAT but their only
demand is to reduce the number of forms that makes the entire task a complicated
procedure.

Shiv Shankar Singh, Proprietor, Stek Systems, Allahabad also the President of
Allahabad Computers' Dealers Association said that the channel community in
Allahabad is in favor of VAT as it will curb the practice of black market, but
the VAT policy in UP is slightly different from other states and there are
certain points that needs to be reframed.
