Nagpur: The Vidharba Computer Manufacturers and Dealers Welfare Association (VCMDWA) has postponed their IT expo-Compex 2010 by a week. Instead of Jan 8-12, the expo will now be held between Jan 14-18. The dates of the IT expo has been rescheduled on the grounds that the association did not want to hold it so early in Jan.
“Yes, we have postponed the dates because we make it a point to hold the IT expo during the festival of Makar Sankrati. This festival is auspicious one for new beginnings, so we decided to change the dates to fit in with it,” said Prashant Ugemuge, President, VCMDWA.
Considering the tremendous response by the people over the last 19 years, VCMDWA expects around two lakh footfalls at the expo this time. “The main objective of Compex 2010 is to educate the people about new technologies and products launching in the market,”added Ugemuge. He further expounded on the fact fact that the computer market trends are changing everyday and consumer of IT products and services these days are extremely computer savvy. Therefore, customers will make a sound judgment before making any purchases through the expo.
“There are many companies who are now moving towards the wireless technology which is also a beneficial factor for us. Through the expo, the association will display products from Microsoft, CISCO, Dell, HP and many other brands,” Ugemuge elaborated while talking about the event.
Ugemuge also highlighted the fact that Compex 2010 is the best way to connect with the public and display the products because there has been a positive response from the people in the last 18 years.
Compex 2010 will be hosting 90 stalls and 25 pavilions this year.
