VCMDWA to introduce an IT helpline

Before the start of its annual expo-Compex 2008, the Vidarbha Computer and
Media Dealers' Welfare Association (VCMDWA) is planning to launch an IT helpline
for Nagpur. The helpline will be operational from 10am to 6pm on all working
days.

Customers can call in and get answers to their IT-related queries. A customer
service executive will attend to these calls and assist customers with their
queries. Said Prashant Ugemuge, President, VCMDWA, “If someone wants to buy a
Lenovo laptop and wants to know who are Lenovo dealers, the helpline will
provide those details. The executive will also give suggestions on the best
suited configurations within the customer's budget.”

VCMDWA is currently talking with vendors like Microsoft and Intel to
co-sponsor the IT helpline. “If Microsoft co-sponsors it, then it will call it
VCMDWA-Microsoft IT helpline,” said Ugemuge. VCMDWA and the co-sponsor will
share the cost of the free service. The helpline is expected to be up and
running by January 11, 2008.
