The Koreans seem to be the
favorites of the channel partners, with

pipping LG to the
post, thanks mainly to its innovative marketing programs and the
promptness with which it conceives its schemes/incentive programs.
They also endorse the overall product quality-its
user-friendliness, reliability as well as price vs performance ratio.
Samsung scores high on overall commercial terms too. Not just its
schemes and incentives, its attractive product pricing, credit
facilities as well as flexibility in commercial terms are also hit
with the resllers.
Though LG's overall
product quality is lauded, it misses out on user-friendliness. Though
LG scores over Samsung in terms of the quality of its marketing
manpower, it really comes into its own as far as after sales support
is concerned. Its proactive services approach, technical expertise to
resolve problems and presence of service centers in multiple
locations have found several takers among the resellers.
AOC needs to take a stand
in relationship management. Be it in maintaining consistency and
effectiveness of communication with the channel partners or
conducting training and certification programs for them. As far as
Dell, HP and Acer are concerned they have managed to appeal their
customers in relationship management. Dell has played a good role in
maintaining promptness regarding the schemes and incentive programs,
and the way they were commenced. HP and Acer need to pull up their
socks in online support, which involves tackling the turnaround time
and providing an interactive site for resolving queries. Though for a
long time the channel favorite HP has relegated to the #5 spot, this
time it still finds several takers for its after-sales support,
especially in the turnaround time and due to the presence of vendor
service centers in the nearby locality and regions. Whereas Acer
needs to buck up in the relationship management front. It has indeed
shown a poor performance in reward systems, and training and
certification for channel partners. It is important to have a
dedicated relationship with customers, which Acer has to learn in the
times to come.
