VITAGE SYSTEMS: Focus on service

Government and education were the key focus verticals for Vitage Systems,
which provided comprehensive support and infrastructure service to customers.
Proactive managed services helped its customers manage the available underlying
business services instead of just managing IT infrastructure

Services was the key focus for Vitage Systems, which clocked a revenue of
over Rs 107 crore in the fiscal 2005-06. Government and education were the key
focus verticals; Vitage successfully provided comprehensive support and
infrastructure service to customers. The company also offered proactive managed
services to help its customers manage the available underlying business services
as opposed to just managing their IT infrastructure. Increased technical focus,
improved customer relationships and an efficient support team helped Vitage
increase its overall business in the last fiscal.

Among the major projects implemented were the provision of comprehensive
support services for a leading services company in the south across seven
development centers, provision of about 850 desktops and ensuring server
management for a leading OEM manufacturer. Also included were the LAN
implementation for about 10,000 ports spread across the year, data center design
and implementation and also provision of enterprise infrastructure to a large
corporate.

Continuing to build on its collaborations with IBM, Lenovo, HP, Cisco,
Systimax, Molex, Wildpackets, Nitix, Microsoft and EMC, Vitage tied-up with
Computer Associates for the Unicenter suite of tools and also tied-up with Nitix.
Having set up a new NOC at their premises on Airport Road in Bangalore with 24x7
remote support and helpdesk, Vitage has also completed the setting up of another
NOC for offering remote monitoring and management services. For the efforts that
it undertook, Vitage got awards of recognition from both IBM and HP.

While looking for additional tie-ups with leading manufacturers in IT in the
coming year, Vitage plans to expand its office premises in all three cities -
Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Also on the anvil for Vitage is working
towards attaining integrated certifications. Having obtained the ISO 9000, ISO
20000-01 (for service delivery) and ISO 27001 (for security), Vitage is now
looking to get the same for compliance (process in progress).
