Wavesat ties-up with HCL Tech

IT solutions provider HCL Technologies and Wavesat, a silicon
developer of WiMax silicon and development platform, have announced a
partnership, which will leverage Wavesat's evolutive WiMax DM256 series, along
with HCL's WiMax MAC IP and datacom engineering expertise to develop
high-performance and low-cost 802.16 compliant

solutions.

The first of several products to be jointly developed by the
two companies will be launched in the first half of 2006. "The increasingly
complex and still-evolving standards for WiMax demand flexible, highly
integrated solutions designed to meet exact specifications with a timely, price
competitive and fully realized product," stated Sandeep Kishore, VP,
High-Tech, HCL.

"We made an early start about 18 months back on the
WiMax MAC IP development and we are looking forward to collaborating with
Wavesat, which is a recognized leader in the high growth WiMax market. This
partnership will provide both parties with the solutions to meet the demands of
these fast-evolving emerging applications," he added.
