WD My Book available in 2 TB capacity

Expanding its lineup of external hard drives, Western Digital has announced
that all models of its My Book dual-drive storage appliances are now available
in capacities up to 2 TB (terabyte). From remote access and sharing, to simple
add-on storage, backup and mirroring, the My Book dual-drive storage systems
meet a variety of needs generated by increasing volume of digital content. The
new 2 TB capacity is now available on WD's My Book World Edition II, My Book Pro
Edition II, My Book Premium Edition II models.

"The explosive growth in devices that create rich multimedia content -
from digital cameras to music players to digital video camcorders - continues to
drive consumers' insatiable demand for more storage capacity. The My Book family
of external drives delivers a solution that can provide remote access, sharing,
protection and storing of precious files," said Sharad Srivastava, Sales

The system can be set by users to reserve half of its capacity to mirror
users' data in real time using RAID technology - in this case, the RAID 1
setting.

The remote-access of WD's My Book World Edition II storage appliance offers
users a simple and secure way to access and share data, photos, and music at
home, in the office, and anywhere in the world - even when their local computer
is off.

WD's My Book Pro Edition II and Premium Edition II help to add extra storage
to a PC or Mac and room to back up and store data.

WD's My Book family of dual-drive storage appliances with up to 2 TB will be
available on the company's online store (http://www.westerndigital.com)
and through select distributors and resellers in India. Estimated pricing for
the My Book Dual-drive storage appliances with 2 TB capacity ranges from Rs. 46,
000 to Rs. 49, 000 depending upon the model.
