Western Digital introduces 'My Passport Essential

WD introduced its new 'My Passport Essential' portable USB drives. Redesigned
to complement WD's 'My Book' family of external drives, the drives fit in a
pocket or purse. Available at select retailers across India the new drives
feature a glossy black finish and hold almost a third of a terabyte of digital
storage.

Weighing in at less than 5 ounces, these drives are light and compact to
carry and because they are bus powered, they do not need an external power
adapter.

WD Sync software allows consumers to take desktop content with them by simple
synchronization of essential personal files and Microsoft Outlook data on a PC.
Should owners misplace the drive, their data is protected with 128-bit
encryption. Google software on the drive allows users to quickly locate files
with the Google desktop search tool, manage photos with Picasa photo organizer
software and simplify Web searches with the Google Toolbar search bar.

WD Passport Portable Drives is available through select WD's distributors in
India. The drives are also available at select retail stores and online
retailers.

Suggested retail price is Rs. 9,500 for WD Passport Essential USB Drive 320
GB, Rs. 6,800 WD Passport Essential USB Drive 250 GB, Rs. 4,700 WD Passport
Essential USB Drive 160 GB and Rs. 4,200 for WD Passport Essential USB Drive 120
GB.
