Western Maharashtra gets its second association

After Pune, which already has an IT association called Computer and Media
Dealers Association (CMDA), IT dealers in Kolhapur have followed the footsteps
and formed an association in the region. The newly formed association would also
use the same acronym-CMDA. Apart from CMDA Kolhapur, currently, three more
associations in the country use CMDA as their acronym, namely CMDA Delhi, CMDA
Pune, and CMDA Mumbai.

The association has been formed by the collective efforts of 15 IT-partners
of Kolhapur, which recently applied for the registration with the Charity
Commissioner of Maharashtra.

Sanjeev Shivapurkar, President, CMDA Kolhapur said, “As and when we are
through with our registration process, we will initiate a substantial membership
campaign in the district. The membership fee is just Rs 1,100 and this brings
couple of benefits for our members along with it. Kolhapur district has around
250 IT-partners and we plan to have at least 100 members by the year-end.”

Explaining the benefits of having an association in the region, Shivapurkar
added, “We don't have any concrete agenda as such but we want the IT dealers
of Kolhapur to be tech-savvy and up-to-date with the latest trends and
technologies. There are lots of opportunities, which were missing and many issue
that remained unaddressed. The formation of the association would help us solve
these issues.”
