With Channels, Always

Job Profile: Roy is responsible for maintaining the company's
marketshare in the region, driving its growth and devising marketing programs.
She has to ensure that there is a continuous supply of Intel products in the
region, and she is also a single point of contact for channel business in the
eastern India. In addition, she also tries to get more channel participation
from B and C-class cities in order to expand the channel footprint.

Background: An MBA from the Calcutta University, Roy did a computer
programming and application course from Aptech. After finishing the course she
joined Intel as Channel Account Manager-East India. Prior to that she worked
with Wipro for five years. According to her, the stint in Wipro gave her an
opportunity to manage both channel and enterprise business.

Challenges: According to Roy, the changing industry trends and market
dynamics can be termed as some of the bottlenecks in the IT business. However,
the most challenging aspect of her job is maintaining a consistent
customer/channel satisfaction level while fostering healthy business
relationships and keeping pace with technology. “The channel has always been an
integral part of Intel's business strategies, hence I need to deliver flawlessly
to keep it going,” she said.

Strengths: Work experience has helped Roy enhance her
customer-orientation skills. This, aided by her channel and distribution
knowledge, has helped her to build a strong relationship with customers. A very
dedicated and committed individual, Roy believes in observing discipline in her
work. She is a strong team player and has the ability to succeed in any any kind
of environment.

Family: Roy's life revolves around her parents, whom she considers as
greatest source of energy. She is also very close to her elder sister who is
like a mentor. Her sister is married and is blessed with a baby boy. Currently,
he is the bundle of joy for everyone in the family and Roy too spends as much
time with him as possible.

Hobbies: Hobbies have taken a back seat since Roy's work is her
priority at the moment. But when she gets the time, she enjoys dabbling in
decorating her house with knick-knacks.

Future Plans: Roy claims it's too early to plan her future move. She
has noticed that Intel gives ample opportunities to its employees with
cross-functional roles and diversification options. She looks forward to taking
up new challenges and higher responsibilities in the organization. A firm
supporter of hard work, Roy believes that her hard work will pay dividends
someday.
