The first of this roadshow took place in Bangalore on 3rd June. This would be followed by Chennai (9th June), Mumbai (10th June), Delhi (11th June) and Hyderabad (18th June). The company claims these MFPs to be first of its kind, offering color capability as an ‘added benefit’ to a black-and-white MFP. Elaborating on the USP of these products, Natesh Mani, Regional Operations Director says, “These devices offer the
regular economy for black and white prints and color capabilities at just a marginally higher cost.”

When asked to differentiate the products from those offered by competition, Natesh explains that other such MFPs offer color functionality at a much higher per-page cost. “What we are saying is that this is largely a b/w MFP and in case you want to use color feature as well, it’s available to you at a slightly incremental cost,” adds he.

Xerox would also be organizing such roadshows in other B- and C-class cities. On the business model for these newly-introduced products, Natesh informs that the company will directly deal with its large accounts, while partners would be engaged for fulfillment part. “The service responsibility lies completely with Xerox. We would also be rolling out buy-back schemes for customers.” Company is looking at selling 150 units of these printers during the calendar year 2004.
