XFX, the gaming brand of Pine Group, has upped its ante in the Indian market
by lining up a series of events to popularize its products amongst the gaming
fraternity. The company is working closely with its distributors to plan and
organize regional shows in cities across the country.

The first such event would be a LAN gaming event that will be conducted in
one of the universities of Mumbai. "Extreme gaming is one area we always
want to get in India. We are encouraging our distributor to come up with
creative ideas," said Sunny Narain, Sr Sales Manager/Purchase Manager,
Distribution, XFX.

According to him, India is a very unique market where a large proportion of
the industry is still based on integrated graphics. However, the company has
been witnessing a growing interest for better graphics cards, driven mainly by
the gaming fraternity, performance PC users and the digital imaging
professionals. XFX has been studying the Indian market for the last one year,
and is only now that it has shown keenness to invest further because of the
increasing demand for such products.

Last year was a good one for XFX in India. But the popularity of its product
was limited to few models, one of which was the largest selling FX5200 graphic
cards. "We have products that fit every type of customer starting from the
cost-conscious to the performance-conscious to the extreme-gamers. There is so
much power available in different graphic cards, but very few customers are
aware of this. The forthcoming events will help us spread this message to our
end-users," said Sunny.
