Mumbai-based Xpress Computers has launched its managed services (MS) program
in partnership with Canada's N-able Corp. The latter is stated to be one of the
leading providers of managed services platforms.
Chetan Shah, MD, Xpress Computers said, “We cannot afford downtime, given
that customer's support costs are mounting. Now with managed services we will be
able to offer 7x24x365 service at a fixed cost to SMEs, enterprise customers and
large education customers. At the end of the day, the customer will be getting
much lower downtime and a quicker response from us.”
A unique initiative that Xpress Computers has undertaken is offering these
services as a pre-devised program to other SIs, as well. Shah said, “There are
many SIs across the country, who want to offer better services but who do not
want to invest in setting up a NOC and becoming a MS provider themselves. In
such a scenario, these partners can sign up as MS partners for Xpress where the
latter will manage their customer's IT 24x7. For the SIs, this would mean a
recurring monthly income and a value add to their customers. A revenue sharing
model can be worked out between the SI and Xpress for this service.”

Shah further explained, “Many times one company provides managed services and
another company does the fulfillment. This is the scenario in other countries.
Xpress Computers will be the last mile provider when it comes to MS, and the
customer can expect a much better response time. In the end it would be a
win-win situation for all; lower costs for the SIs as well as their customers.”
