Zenith introduces seven new notebooks

Zenith Computers has launched a range of seven new laptops priced between Rs 32,000 and Rs 70,000. The company claims that the range which it terms "the
power of 7" could help companies equip their entire workforce with technology.

Announcing the launch of the new notebooks, Zenith CMD Raj Saraf says, "With the price difference between laptops and desktops coming down by 25
percent -30 percent, we are confident that the demand for our laptops will be high. We hope that with this release, our growth in laptop revenues will
go up by 300 percent -400 percent."

The new notebook range start with the basic `Salespro` based on Intel Celeron priced at Rs 32,000 aimed at sales force, students and field
personnel. Other models include the `Executive' model which is Intel Pentium 4 based and is targeted at mid-management and executives; `Analyst' which is
meant for professionals and students; `Performer, a hi-performance laptop which can support Prescott and `Director'- an Intel Centrino based laptop
priced at Rs 54,000 is aimed at CEOs, CIOs and decision-makers. A wide screen 15.4-inch wide WXGA laptop with Intel Centrino called `Strategist' is
priced at Rs 61,000. 

The company also hopes to tap into the female segment of the market with its premium high-end model called Presidio, which costs Rs 70,000 and weighs as
less as one kg.

"While Zenith sold around 2,700 laptops last year, we hope to boost sales to 15,000 units this year," informed Saraf. The company is optimistic that it
could achieve revenue target in excess of Rs 350 crore this year from last year's Rs 285 crore.

He also informed that companies like Seimens, SBI, Sony and the Indian Business Academy, Bangalore have already booked
orders for the new laptops.
