ZyXEL rolls wireless business access point

ZyXEL Communications Corporation has introduced ZyXEL NWA 3100 wireless
business access point in the Indian market. With dual-band support and rogue AP
detection that covers the whole spectrum, all traffic is under close watch. The
dual-band configurable NWA-3100 is designed to combine voice, networking and
wireless communications. "It is WiFi WMM-certified and has our unique ATC
and auto traffic classifier that automatically prioritize the traffic,
especially for conventional applications," informed Mahendra Lalwani, MD,
ZyXEL Technology India Pvt. Ltd. He further explained that for roaming
capability, another voice over WiFi essence, ZyXEL NWA-3100 is available with
pre-authentication and PMK cache, as well as IAPP enhancements to improve the
hand-off timing. By deploying the voice over WiFi-ready NWA-3100 one can
facilitate low-cost conversation.

To shield wireless communication at the source, WPA2 with TKIP/AES encryption
provides standard-based security while WEP encryption supports legacy wireless
clients. Additionally, WPA2 ensures the compatibility with all WiFi-certified
wireless clients. The ZyXEL NWA-3100 supports up to eight SSIDs with 802.1Q VLAN
tag that allows NWA-3100 to perform as multiple virtual access points.
Additionally, the NWA-3100 provides pre-defined voice SSID and guest SSID for
optimized voice prioritization, and offers security for guest access without
difficulties of complicated configuration efforts.

The new product also supports a wide variety of administration features with
secure control over the system. The NWA-3100 uses a centralized account on
RADIUS server to control all the NWA-3100 access points. Users can perform
massive installation and configuration upgrades with the auto-configuration
function.

ZyXEL NWA-3100 is available in India through ZyXEL Technology India Pvt.
Ltd., and through its authorized channel partners at a list price of Rs.13,250
plus taxes.
