Ramco Systems Names Turnaround Architect Sandesh Bilagi as New CEO

Ramco Systems, a provider of next-gen cloud enterprise applications, has officially announced the appointment of Raghuveer Sandesh Bilagi as its Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel. The milestone leadership transition follows a comprehensive recommendation by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, with immediate endorsement from the Board of Directors.
Bilagi steps into the chief executive role directly from his previous assignment as President and Chief Operating Officer. In that capacity, he successfully engineered a complete operational turnaround, reversing persistent structural drag to deliver six consecutive quarters of operational profitability through the close of Fiscal Year 2026.
His expanded executive mandate transitions the technology firm away from defensive stabilisation workflows toward high-velocity global go-to-market scaling, backed by a recent 25% annual surge in order book deal value.
A Veteran Builder with Global Operational Rigour
Bilagi brings more than twenty years of complex enterprise technology, financial administration, and corporate development experience to the CEO framework. A Chartered Accountant certified by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a certified CPA via CPA Australia, he holds a strong foundation in commercial accounting parameters, structural contract risk allocation, and margin protection optimisation.
His long tenure within the organisation showcases extensive operational execution:
Oceania Foundation: He single-handedly established Ramco's Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) business cluster from the ground up, securing multiple landmark client acquisitions worthover USD 550 million with leading Australian conglomerates.
Crisis Management: He successfully anchored the corporate operational matrix through two separate leadership transitions and shielded delivery teams from the extreme structural changes brought on by the pandemic window.
Cross-Border Deployment: Having lived and operated across key economic centres in India, China, and Australia, his background delivers extensive regional exposure across diverse business environments.
Prior to driving operational execution at Ramco, Bilagi managed high-tier business development units and spearheaded the creation of specialised offshore development centres (ODCs) at major systems integration players including HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra.
Rebuilding the Core: The Shift to AI-Native Architecture
The strategic anchor of Bilagi’s new chapter resides in transforming Ramco from a traditional cloud-adapted software entity into a truly AI-native enterprise asset. In modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) environments, simply "bolting on" surface-level chatbot plugins or generic large language model APIs onto old, legacy multi-tenant databases fails to deliver real execution speed or long-term value.
Under the new engineering framework, the company is systematically refactoring its application layers—including its new Chia autonomous workflow engine—to embed machine learning capabilities straight into the codebase. This allows the system to autonomously parse transaction histories, optimise supply chain routes, generate predictive maintenance logs for high-consequence aviation parts, and manage automated payroll compliance rules across different tax jurisdictions without requiring hardcoded script lines.
| Core Modular Product Line | Primary Target Enterprise Vertical | Strategic CEO Expansion Objective |
| Aviation & MRO SaaS | Commercial Carriers, Defence, Heli-operators | Accelerating full-lifecycle fleet maintenance and compliance monitoring. |
| Payce (Global Payroll) | Multinational Corporations, Staffing Firms | Deploying autonomous regional tax calculations across multi-country operations. |
| Asset-Centric ERP | Heavy Manufacturing, Industrial Logistics | Transitioning rigid operations into adaptive supply chains via the Chia workflow engine. |
Board Confidence and Market Alignment
P.R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman of Ramco Systems, underscored that the recent financial stability signals a fundamental structural upgrade rather than a temporary market correction:
“Over the past several quarters, Ramco has emerged a stronger, more disciplined company - six straight quarters of operational profit are evidence of a genuine turnaround, not a one-time correction. Sandesh has been central to that journey. He understands our customers, our markets and our people, and he has consistently demonstrated the judgement to make difficult decisions and the resilience to see them through. The Board is confident that his appointment as Chief Executive Officer positions Ramco to convert this stability into sustained, profitable global growth.”
P.V. Abinav Ramasubramaniam Raja, Managing Director of Ramco Systems, emphasised the unique balance of execution traits Bilagi brings to the table:
“Sandesh combines a builder’s instinct with an operator’s rigour. He created our ANZ business from the ground up and then brought that same ownership to the turnaround of the wider company, across customer engagements and operations. As we enter our next phase, our priorities are clear - accelerate global expansion and embed AI at the core of our products and the way we run the business. Sandesh is the right leader to drive both, and I look forward to partnering with him closely.”
Commenting on his strategic priorities, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Sandesh Bilagi stated:
“It is a privilege to lead Ramco at a defining moment. We have done the hard work of restoring profitability and sharpening execution; the task now is to sustain that rigour and convert our strength into growth at scale. Two priorities will define this chapter. First, global growth - deepening our presence in established markets and building a world-class go-to-market motion, expanding across our HR & Global Payroll, Aviation, ERP, Logistics and Chia product lines. Second, becoming a truly AI-native company - not bolting AI onto our products, but rebuilding how we design, deliver and operate around it, so that every customer experiences a measurably better outcome. In a fast-evolving technology landscape, we will do this by building an organisation that is nimble, with a fast-adopting mindset.
