International Police Expo 2026 Debuts 300+ Homeland Security Innovations in Delhi

The 11th edition of the International Police Expo 2026 officially opened at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, establishing a comprehensive display of modern law enforcement, civil defence, and tactical operational hardware. Organised by Nexgen Exhibitions Private Limited, the event runs alongside the 10th India Homeland Security Expo and the 7th Drone International Expo. The combined summit has drawn security representatives, technology integrators, and defence manufacturers from more than 25 countries to analyse technologies transforming public safety and perimeter protection workflows.

The 2026 exhibition centres heavily on self-reliance in defence manufacturing, presenting over 300 innovations designed to modernise police forces while reducing dependence on imported defence supply chains.

Indigenous Small Arms and Acoustic Counter-Drone Engineering

A primary focus of the opening ceremonies was the formal unveiling of the Tyto sniper rifle, engineered by SSS Defence. Named after the silent hunting patterns of the barn owl, the Tyto represents a significant step forward for indigenous small arms development, with every sub-assembly designed and manufactured domestically.

The system features localised engineering specifications tailored for asymmetric scenarios:

• The Platform: It is among the world's initial bolt-action precision platforms chambered natively in 7.62x35mm (.300 Blackout), a cartridge selection optimised for urban operations and short-to-medium-range engagements.
• Signature Suppression: The rifle integrates a proprietary, high-efficiency suppressor directly into its barrel shroud configuration, eliminating muzzle flash and dampening acoustic reports to limit target position exposure during close-quarters counter-terror assignments.

Concurrently, the manufacturer showcased the Varaha Counter Drone System, designated as India’s first coherence-based acoustic drone detector. While traditional electronic warfare equipment relies on radio frequency (RF) scanning or active radar reflection, both of which can be subverted by dark drones operating autonomously via pre-programmed GPS coordinates without active RF emissions, Varaha utilises a highly sensitive passive microphone array. The device isolates the physical structural acoustic signature of spinning propellers, allowing defensive teams to track micro-UAVs at 500 meters and larger high-altitude platforms at distances spanning several kilometres simply by their mechanical noise signatures.

Autonomous Airspace Defence and Tactical Mobile Platforms

Airspace protection moving at ground-vehicle speeds was highlighted by Indrajaal Drone Defence’s launch of the country’s firstAnti-Drone Patrol Vehicle (ADPV). The mobile armour platform mounts active radar detection tracking systems, optical panning cameras, and directional RF jamming modules to intercept, disrupt, and neutralise hostile drone swarms while moving through high-risk transit corridors.

On the international side, Russian arms supplier Kalashnikov presented itsGaruda (SKAT 350 M) UAV. The high-altitude tactical drone was engineered specifically to maintain navigation stability inside heavy electronic jamming zones, verified by extreme mountain field trials where it set an altitude record of 9,500 meters within the Himalayan range.

Mobile Digital Forensics and Tactical Field Survivability

To meet the technical demands of modern digital investigations, the expo highlighted the migration of laboratory forensic assets out of central field offices directly into mobile, tactical units:

• Mobile Forensic Laboratories: Special-purpose vehicle outfitter MH Service debuted its fully contained "Lab on Wheels" forensic van. The mobile unit houses local processing servers, write-blockers, and advanced digital forensic extraction suites, allowing field agents to secure, parse, and analyse data from computers, mobile devices, and recovered burner phones right at an active crime scene.
• Lawful Interception Architectures: ClearTrail Technologies exhibited its advanced AI-based intelligence processing software, demonstrating secure data-ingestion models used by authorised state entities to identify synthetic deepfakes and perform real-time threat surveillance.
• Tactical Mobility Assets: Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) showcased its new-generation Light Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LAMV), utilising a modular 4x4 ballistic transport layout built for rapid reconnaissance. This was paired with the Rakshita motorbike ambulance, co-developed by the DRDO and CRPF, built to execute fast medical evacuations across narrow, unpaved terrain inaccessible to standard emergency response vans.
