NTT DATA and Palo Alto alliance take AI security global
AI is moving deeper into enterprise systems, but security is becoming harder to manage at the same time. The NTT DATA and Palo Alto alliance aims to address that gap through a multi-year global strategic alliance combining cybersecurity platforms, consulting, engineering and managed services.
The agreement targets $1 billion in joint business by the end of three years, or 2029. It also marks Palo Alto Networks’ first strategic alliance of this kind with a global systems integrator.
A global strategic alliance built around Secure AI transformation
The partnership goes beyond deploying security products. NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks plan to combine joint engineering, co-innovation and coordinated global delivery to help enterprises assess cyber risk, deploy AI securely and continuously improve their security environments.
The companies are also building on their existing Frontier AI collaboration. Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42 threat intelligence will be paired with NTT DATA’s cybersecurity expertise, AI governance capabilities and managed services.
The alliance will be backed by more than 2,000 Palo Alto Networks-certified professionals, dedicated Forward Deployed Engineers and direct engineering collaboration. NTT DATA will also receive early access to new platform features.
Cyber resilience for AI becomes the wider focus
The initial solutions target financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector. The focus is spread across six areas: Autonomous Security Operations Centre, AI governance, identity security, Zero Trust and SASE, resilient cloud, and firewall modernisation.
For enterprises, the key shift is the attempt to bring these areas into a more connected security approach rather than treating them as separate technology projects.
AI governance will cover security and risk management across the AI lifecycle, while identity security will extend to human, machine and AI-agent identities. Cloud and firewall initiatives will focus on visibility, governance and reducing complexity.
Managed services add another layer
NTT DATA brings more than 7,500 cybersecurity professionals, 70+ delivery centres and 20+ Autonomous Cyber Defense Centers to the alliance.
That scale matters because the partnership is designed around consulting, engineering and managed services, rather than technology deployment alone. The stated goal is to help organisations simplify complex environments while responding faster to evolving threats.
The NTT DATA and Palo Alto alliance therefore places managed security and AI adoption on the same track. Its success will ultimately depend on how effectively that combined model can translate into secure AI adoption across complex enterprise environments
