Slackforce Surfaces brings live Salesforce data into Slack

Salesforce has introduced Slackforce Surfaces, a new capability that turns data from Salesforce and other connected sources into interactive experiences inside Slack.

The move builds on Slack CRM and Slackbot’s ability to read from, write to and take action across Salesforce through MCP. The aim is to let teams work with business data without leaving their conversations.

Users can ask Slackbot to create dashboards, reports, executive HTML decks, calculators or other interactive experiences using the data and context already available to them.

Turning business data into shared experiences

Teams often have to move information from business applications into separate tools before they can turn it into something useful. A pipeline may become a dashboard, a forecast may become a presentation or campaign data may need to be manually added to a report.

Slackforce Surfaces is designed to reduce that extra work.

A Surface remains connected to its underlying data. As a Salesforce pipeline changes, a case is closed or a campaign figure is updated, the Surface can reflect the latest information instead of remaining a static snapshot.

The experiences can also be shared in Slack. Teams can filter and explore information, drill into records and messages, comment and discuss the data together. A Surface can be pinned to a channel so it remains available to the team.

Users do not need to know how to build a dashboard or presentation. They can describe what they need in plain language and Slackbot creates the experience based on the available data and context.

The company said Surfaces can work with Salesforce, Slack history and other connected enterprise data. Existing permissions remain in place, so users only see information they are already authorised to access.

From sales to finance

Sales teams can turn Salesforce pipelines into daily views that highlight stalled or at-risk deals.

Marketing teams can create executive presentations combining go-to-market plans, campaign data, targets and approval requirements.

IT teams can use Surfaces to track AI adoption, token usage, spending and ROI, while customer service teams can create live triage boards showing SLA breaches, case severity and customer tier.

Finance teams can also turn forecasts into interactive views. One example uses a weather theme to show financial tailwinds and headwinds based on budget and variance data.

Elia Wallen, Founder and CEO, Engine, said, “We handle millions of customer inquiries a year, so getting our people the right context fast is important. Slack Surfaces helps anyone on the team describe what they need and get a real, working interface back and built from data we already have.”

Slackforce Surfaces is available today for customers on Enterprise+, Business+, Pro, Legacy and Free Teams that have Slackbot enabled. The live data feature begins rollout in October.

For Salesforce customers, the larger proposition is about making existing business data more useful without moving it into another application. Instead of ending with an answer or report, the conversation can become a live workspace where teams can examine the data and act on it.
