Snowflake Accelerates Agentic Enterprise With New AI Stack

As enterprises move from testing AI to deploying autonomous systems at scale, one challenge keeps surfacing: how to connect data, governance, business context and action without creating new silos. At Snowflake Summit 2026, Snowflake addressed this challenge with a broad set of announcements designed to help organisations build what it calls the agentic enterprise.

The latest updates bring together AI agents, enterprise data, governance and interoperability into a single framework. The larger message is clear: enterprises are no longer looking for isolated AI tools. They want systems that can understand context, act on trusted data and operate securely across the organisation.

Building the Foundation for the Agentic Enterprise

The announcements span Snowflake CoCo, Snowflake CoWork, Snowflake Horizon Catalog and the company's interoperable data platform. Together, these offerings aim to create a common control plane where people and AI agents can work from the same business context.

According to Vijayant Rai, MD, India, Snowflake, the future of enterprise AI will depend on how effectively organisations connect intelligence, trusted data and business actions. The new capabilities are designed to help enterprises build AI faster, operationalise it securely and enable collaboration between employees and AI agents.

Snowflake CoCo Expands AI Development

One of the biggest themes from the event was simplifying AI development. Snowflake introduced new capabilities for Snowflake CoCo, its coding agent designed to help developers automate workflows, build applications and operationalise AI through conversational interactions. The platform now extends across desktop, mobile, Slack, VS Code, Claude Code and Microsoft Excel.

Alongside this, Snowflake launched Snowflake Datastream, a fully managed streaming service for Apache Kafka. The service enables organisations to feed real-time data directly into AI applications and agents. The combination points to a growing enterprise need: real-time AI systems that can work with fresh data rather than relying on static information.

From Insights to Action with CoWork

While CoCo focuses on builders, Snowflake CoWork targets knowledge workers. New capabilities such as Cortex Sense, Artefacts, Deep Research, User Skills and personalisation aim to create a context-aware AI experience. Rather than simply answering questions, the platform is designed to help teams automate workflows, speed up decision-making and act on insights more quickly.

Snowflake also introduced Cortex Training, allowing organisations to customise and train foundation models directly where enterprise data resides. This reduces the complexity often associated with moving data between platforms for AI development.

Governance and Trust Take Centre Stage

As AI adoption grows, governance is becoming as important as innovation. Snowflake expanded Horizon Catalogue with new capabilities such as Horizon Context, helping ensure that users, tools and AI agents operate from the same trusted business context. New security features, including Agent Identity and enhancements to Snowflake Trust Centre, are intended to strengthen visibility and control over enterprise AI deployments.

The company also introduced Adaptive Compute, which automatically optimises compute resources in real time to improve AI and application performance without manual intervention.

Zero Data Movement AI Orchestration Gains Momentum

Another notable theme was interoperability. Snowflake announced support for Apache Iceberg v3, Snowflake Storage for Apache Iceberg Tables, external engine access management and Iceberg REST Scan Plan API support. These capabilities allow organisations to access, govern and share data across environments without moving or duplicating it.

This approach to zero-data-movement AI orchestration could become increasingly important as enterprises seek to manage growing volumes of distributed data while maintaining governance and consistency.

The Bigger Picture

The announcements at Snowflake Summit 2026 show how enterprise AI is evolving. The conversation is shifting from standalone AI models to connected ecosystems in which data, governance, interoperability, and AI agents work together.

For enterprises, the key takeaway is not just building AI faster. It is creating an environment where AI can operate securely, understand business context and deliver action at scale. That is the direction Snowflake is betting on as it advances its vision of the agentic enterprise.
