TallyPrime 7.1 Introduces Tally Ira AI for Faster Workflows

As businesses look for ways to reduce manual work and improve efficiency, automation is moving from a future goal to an everyday requirement. The latest TallyPrime release reflects this shift, with Tally Solutions introducing its first AI-powered capability aimed at simplifying accounting and business workflows.

AI Moves Closer to Daily Business Operations

The biggest update in the release is that TallyPrime 7.1 introduces Tally Ira AI, marking Tally's first step toward embedding artificial intelligence directly into its platform.

The first capability under TallyIra, called Docs by Ira, uses AI to read business documents and convert them into accounting transactions within TallyPrime. Businesses can upload documents through desktop, mobile devices, or WhatsApp, allowing the software to automatically extract information and generate GST-compliant entries.

The development addresses one of the most time-consuming parts of business operations—manual data entry. According to Tally, the feature can reduce manual effort by up to 80% while helping businesses improve responsiveness and streamline workflows.

From Document Processing to Smarter Accounting

A notable aspect of Docs by Ira AI invoice processing and document scanner functionality is its focus on flexibility and control. While AI handles information extraction and transaction creation, businesses remain in charge of reviewing and managing every transaction.

This approach reflects a broader trend in business software where automation is designed to assist decision-making rather than replace it.

Giving Invoices a Stronger Business Identity

Beyond AI, the release also expands invoice customization capabilities. Among the key TallyPrime 7.1 new features is an enhanced invoice personalization experience. Businesses can choose from modern invoice templates and add logos, signatures, watermarks, and other company-specific details.

The goal is to help organisations create invoices that reflect their unique identity while maintaining consistency and professionalism.

Banking and Accounting Come Together

The release also strengthens Connected Banking capabilities through a partnership with ICICI Bank. Current account holders can manage banking and accounting activities within a single environment. Users can access live account balances, view bank statements, receive transaction updates, initiate payments, manage reconciliations, and monitor banking operations without switching platforms.

This integration aims to improve visibility into financial operations while reducing time spent on routine banking tasks.
