Zoom Names Arijit Dey as Channel Leader to Drive India & SAARC Enterprise Growth

ZVC India, the standalone operating entity of Zoom Video Communications, has announced the formal appointment of Arijit Dey as the Channel Leader for India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region. Armed with over 24 years of enterprise sales, business development, and ecosystem design experience across the information technology and telecommunications industries, Dey is tasked with leading Zoom's regional channel strategy. The appointment highlights the vendor’s focus on deep partner enablement to help corporate clients deploy localised artificial intelligence workflows.

The leadership change comes at a time when the unified communications market is shifting. Modern enterprises are looking to move past simple web-conferencing software to adopt fully integrated, AI-driven systems of action that unify front-office operations, asynchronous team communication, and cloud contact centres within a secure, multi-tenant database infrastructure.

Leveraging Deep CCaaS and Telecom Alliances

Before joining Zoom, Arijit Dey served as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Genesys. In that role, he drove significant Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) market expansion throughout India by orchestrating high-value alliances with Tier-1 telecommunication service providers, prominent global systems integrators (GSIs), and legacy customer experience consultancies.

His extensive career includes pivotal leadership roles across multi-national telecom organisations and early-stage technology startups. This background has focused on scaling B2B sales networks, building complex channel architectures, and managing cross-functional technical pre-sales engineering squads. At Zoom, Dey will apply this domain expertise to expand the market footprint of the brand's premium customer experience solutions, specifically Zoom Contact Centre and Zoom Phone, across high-density commercial corridors.

Monetising the Integrated Suite via Zoom Up

Under Dey's guidance, Zoom will continue to refine its channel-first architecture through the structured Zoom Up Partner Program. The framework provides registered value-added resellers (VARs), agents, and system integrators with modified technical enablement toolkits, simplified co-selling processes, and tiered commercial incentives. These resources are designed to help partners upsell and integrate the provider's expanding portfolio of workspace tools, including:

  • Zoom Workplace: An AI-backed collaboration workspace that combines team chat, document co-editing, and intelligent meeting transcription summaries.

  • Zoom Phone: An enterprise-grade cloud VoIP system built to replace costly on-premises PBX hardware setups.

  • Zoom Contact Centre: An omni-channel CCaaS application designed to integrate customer journey analytics directly into standard agent interfaces.

  • ZoomMate AI Engine: A built-in AI companion that connects context across conversations, emails, and shared whiteboards to automate task creation and accelerate workflow execution.

Executive Leadership Perspectives

Jacob Pereira, Head of APAC Partners at Zoom, highlighted the growth opportunities within the regional channel landscape:

“Our partner ecosystem is central to how we bring Zoom's innovations to our customers across India and SAARC. Arijit brings deep channel expertise and a strong track record of building strategic alliances that drive growth. As organizations increasingly look to AI to improve how work gets done, his leadership will help our partners deliver greater value to customers and capture new opportunities.”

Sameer Raje, General Manager & Head of India & SAARC at Zoom, emphasised that business leaders are prioritising customer experience over simple productivity gains:

“Organizations in India and SAARC are looking beyond productivity gains and asking how AI can help them drive better customer and employee experiences, make faster decisions, and achieve stronger business outcomes. Partners are critical to helping customers realize that value, and Arijit's appointment reflects our continued investment in the ecosystem that supports our customers in this growth region.”

Commenting on his new role, Arijit Dey stated:

“I am excited to join Zoom and work alongside our partners across India and SAARC to help organizations embrace modern, AI-powered collaboration and customer experience solutions. Zoom has built a strong reputation for innovation and partner success, and I look forward to working with, empowering, and growing this ecosystem to further strengthen Zoom’s presence in the market.”
