TCS and SKF partnership to engineer AI-native industrial manufacturing

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT services, consulting, and business solutions provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with SKF, a leading industrial manufacturing company, to accelerate intelligent transformation across its global operations. The collaboration is structured to enable SKF to transition into a future-ready digital enterprise, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to systematically redesign its industrial manufacturing architecture and business processes.

As industrial manufacturing enters a decade defined by the deep integration of data-driven intelligence into product design, production tracking, and customer service pipelines, the program will establish a modern foundation for scaling complex automation workflows.

End-to-end managed services and AI integration

The multi-year engagement tasks TCS with delivering comprehensive, end-to-end managed services across SKF's entire global operational footprint. The scope of the technology modernisation spans multiple layers of the corporate architecture:

• Infrastructure & Applications: Modernising and simplifying the global technology landscape to standardise everyday operations.

• Agentic Workflows: Combining deep manufacturing domain expertise with advanced AI-led agentic workflows to eliminate systemic operational friction.

• Core Systems Modernisation: Strengthening the domain-led technology architecture, securing data and connectivity platforms, and updating end-user services across international boundaries.

• Next-Generation ERP Platform: Accelerating the collaborative design and deployment of a scalable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform to improve responsiveness across the industrial value chain.

Building a globally connected Operating model

The partnership leverages a full-stack AI approach that connects raw computing infrastructure to localised operational intelligence. This strategy helps SKF create a unified, globally connected operating model that balances centralised, AI-enabled systems with the regional flexibility necessary to meet local market conditions.
