Ai+ Smartphone partners with Optiemus Electronics to manufacture devices in India

Ai+ Smartphone has entered into a manufacturing agreement with Optiemus Electronics to produce smartphones, tablets, IoT devices and advanced wearable products in India. The collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening domestic electronics manufacturing under the Government of India’s Make in India initiative.
Under the agreement, the companies plan to invest approximately Rs. 125 crore over the next five years in India-based manufacturing infrastructure. The initiative is expected to generate around 1,200 direct and indirect jobs across manufacturing, operations and associated supply chain functions.
As part of the partnership, Optiemus Electronics (OEL) will manufacture around 3 million Ai+ Smartphone mobile devices. The production scope also includes tablets, IoT products and advanced wearable devices, creating a scalable manufacturing backbone for Ai+ Smartphones’ expanding smart device portfolio.
Manufacturing will take place at OEL’sNoida facility, with production ramp-up expected to begin in April 2026.
Ai+ Smartphone devices operate on NxtQuantum OS, an India-developed mobile operating system built on Android. The platform is designed to deliver enhanced transparency, stronger security controls and compliance with Indian data protection regulations.
According to Madhav Sheth, the collaboration addresses a significant opportunity for India-based technology brands.
“In a market where most smart devices still come from Chinese and other global brands, there is clear headroom for an Indian brand that treats both quality and sovereignty as non-negotiable. This manufacturing agreement with OEL is a concrete step in that direction. Together we are committing capital, creating jobs and building under the Government of India’s Make in India vision.”
The partnership reinforces Ai+ Smartphone’s broader strategy to develop an India-first technology ecosystem spanning smartphones, tablets, AIoT devices and wearable products, while strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities.
Ashok Gupta highlighted the importance of domestic production capabilities for scaling Indian technology brands.
“We are very excited to work with Ai+ Smartphone, a dedicated Indian brand that is clear about scale, security and long-term commitment to the market. With our manufacturing facilities and EMS expertise, we will support Ai+ Smartphone as it ramps production and expands into new device categories.”
By combining Optiemus’ established electronics manufacturing services with Ai+ Smartphone’s India-developed software ecosystem, the companies aim to build a strong production backbone capable of supporting both domestic demand and future export opportunities.
The partnership also positions Ai+ Smartphone to expand into additional connected device categories while maintaining tighter control over supply chains, product quality and operating system development within India.
