Anthropic's Claude AI is gearing up for an exciting new chapter in India. The company is set to launch local AI processing through Amazon Bedrock, which will enable businesses and government agencies to handle AI tasks without sending their data overseas. This move responds to the increasing need for secure and compliant AI services, especially in regulated industries like banking, finance, and insurance.

Sandeep Dutta, president of AWS India & South Asia, agreed, noting that local processing gives organisations access to cutting-edge AI technology on a trusted platform.
Enterprise adoption grows
The positive impact of this expansion is already evident. Kotak Bank has expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, while Axis Bank is leveraging Claude to boost its engineering efforts. NPCI is enhancing its AiNxt platform, IndusInd Bank is creating an AI knowledge platform, and Godrej Industries is integrating Claude's models into areas like software development and business analysis.
To further strengthen its reach, Anthropic has launched the Claude Partner Network in India, where it aims to train 5,000 professionals through its first certification program in Bengaluru. This initiative reflects India’s emerging role as a rapidly growing hub for Anthropic's partnership efforts.
