AWS Builder expands to Hyderabad with permanent tech hub

AWS is taking its developer community model beyond pop-up spaces. The company has announced plans for new AWS Builder Lofts in Hyderabad, Berlin and São Paulo, creating permanent spaces where developers, students and tech professionals can learn, collaborate and build.

The move follows the launch of the first AWS Builder Loft in San Francisco in July 2025. Since then, the space has welcomed more than 22,500 developers, hosting hackathons, workshops, demo nights and community-led events.

The new locations point to a broader shift in how AWS wants to engage with local developer communities. Rather than limiting interaction to online learning or short-term events, the Builder Loft model gives communities a physical place to meet and work together.

Hyderabad gets a dedicated developer space

For India, Hyderabad will be one of the three new locations. The planned AWS community space in Hyderabad will focus on helping developers upskill in AI, explore cloud-native architecture and connect with peers building new applications.

The space will also support workshops, networking events, pitch nights, content creation, collaboration and co-working. Community groups will be able to request the space for meetups at no cost.

AWS also plans to connect these spaces with AWS User Groups, AWS Student Builder Groups and independent developer communities.

Three cities, different priorities

Each location has a specific focus. Berlin will host sessions around digital sovereignty, security readiness, hackathons and startup collaboration. São Paulo will work with local communities, universities and startup networks.

The common thread is community-led activity.

The San Francisco Builder Loft currently hosts four to eight community events each week, ranging from generative AI sessions and coding workshops to startup pitch nights and networking events.
