SUSE Open source infrastructure powers enterprise AI roadmap
Indian enterprises are investing heavily in AI, but moving from pilots to production remains a challenge. At SUSE Summit Mumbai 2026, SUSE Open Source infrastructure emerged as the company's answer to that challenge, combining open technologies with digital sovereignty, security, and enterprise-scale AI deployment.
The company said its strategy is designed to help organisations embrace AI while retaining complete control over their infrastructure, data, and deployment choices.
Sovereign AI and Enterprise AI take centre stage
SUSE shared findings from its Navigating Digital Resilience 2026 report, showing that 62% of Indian respondents now consider digital sovereignty a strategic priority, above the global average. While 90% of IT leaders expect AI budgets to increase, many are still building the secure technology foundations needed for enterprise AI.
To address this, SUSE highlighted SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA, enabling enterprises to deploy AI workloads faster while maintaining governance and keeping data within customer-controlled environments. The company also reiterated its support for India's digital ecosystem through infrastructure aligned with the IndiaAI Mission and India Stack.
Open source infrastructure strengthens Digital Sovereignty
Throughout the event, SUSE Open source infrastructure remained central to the company's vision. SUSE showcased how its portfolio—covering Linux, Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, edge computing, SAP, and AI—helps enterprises operate across hybrid and multi-cloud environments without sacrificing flexibility or compliance.
According to Rhys Oxenham, VP and General Manager of AI at SUSE, organisations need ownership of their AI models, code, and data to build resilient AI strategies. Marshal Correia, Country Manager for India & SAARC, added that enterprises require architectural freedom to innovate while meeting India's evolving regulatory requirements.
Together with SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA, is intended to reduce deployment complexity while helping organisations maintain security, compliance, and operational resilience across distributed environments.
