Synology launches DVA7400 for enterprise AI surveillance

Organisations are expanding surveillance across offices, factories, campuses, and remote locations. As deployments grow, managing video securely while extracting useful insights becomes increasingly difficult. Synology launches DVA7400, its flagship Deep Learning Analytics appliance, to address these challenges with centralized management and AI-powered analytics that run entirely on-premises.

Synology DVA7400 brings AI surveillance to scale

Built on a 2U 12-bay rackmount chassis, the Synology NVR processes up to 100 high-resolution camera streams while running 40 real-time AI surveillance tasks simultaneously. All recordings and AI metadata remain within the organisation's infrastructure, helping enterprises maintain complete data ownership and regulatory compliance.

According to Josh Lin, Director of the Synology Surveillance Group, the DVA7400 combines nearly two decades of the company's physical security expertise with localised AI analytics, allowing organisations to expand surveillance without compromising data privacy.

AI Video analytics improve enterprise security

The video analytics server introduces Semantic Video Search, allowing operators to search archived footage using natural language instead of manually reviewing hours of recordings. A dedicated hardware accelerator ensures searches run independently without affecting ongoing analytics performance.

The platform also includes Attribute Search, License Plate Recognition, Find Repeated Objects, Face Recognition, Crowd Detection, Intrusion Detection, and People and Vehicle Counting. Together, these capabilities help security teams investigate incidents faster while improving day-to-day monitoring.

AI surveillance without replacing existing cameras

One of the key advantages of the deep learning NVR is its ability to add AI capabilities to existing camera fleets. Through server-side analytics and broad ONVIF Profile support, organisations can upgrade their smart surveillance system without replacing deployed cameras.

The appliance also functions as a centralised management server through Synology Surveillance Station's Central Management System, making it easier to oversee distributed sites from a single platform.
