Veeam annual ESG report highlights an evolving mission and a bigger trust shift

The latest Veeam annual ESG report offers a closer look at how the company is linking growth with responsibility. While the report covers environmental, social and governance progress, it also reflects a broader shift towards building trust in data and AI as organisations move deeper into the AI era.

The report comes at a time when businesses are paying closer attention to governance, privacy and security. Veeam's latest update shows how these priorities are becoming more closely connected with business growth, workforce expansion and responsible AI adoption.

Growth and trust move together

One of the clearest themes in the report is the relationship between growth and trust. Between 2024 and 2025, Veeam expanded from more than 5,000 employees across 34 countries to over 6,600 employees across more than 60 countries. During the same period, its customer base increased from more than 400,000 to 550,000 organisations.

According to Anand Eswaran, CEO, Veeam, the company continues to focus on helping organisations trust their data and AI while ensuring that innovation is supported by responsible business practices. The report positions trust as a key part of how the company measures long-term progress.

Measuring impact beyond operations

The environmental section of the report shows a stronger emphasis on accountability and measurement. Veeam recycled 1,684 laptops through its global e-waste programme, helping prevent an estimated 5,052 pounds of e-waste.

The company has also expanded its emissions tracking efforts. After establishing baseline Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and achieving reductions, Veeam Scope 1 2 and 3 emissions tracking now extends across a broader part of its operations and value chain. The report also notes a reduction in office locations, with eight sites carrying LEED certification.

AI governance becomes a business priority

Perhaps the most notable insight from the report is the growing focus on trust in AI. Through its Veeam Data and AI Trust ESG strategy, the company is placing greater emphasis on governance, privacy and responsible AI oversight.

The report highlights the introduction of a formal Responsible AI Policy and a process for auditing AI use cases before enterprise deployment. More than 100 AI use cases were reviewed before implementation, while controls were maintained to protect customer backup data used in AI integrations. The company is also monitoring emerging AI regulations as part of its governance approach.

Strengthening capabilities through Securiti AI

The acquisition of Securiti AI during 2025 added new expertise in data privacy, governance and AI security. The move also brought approximately 600 employees into the organisation, strengthening capabilities linked to responsible AI and data protection.

The Veeam annual ESG report ultimately points to a wider trend where trust, governance and AI readiness are becoming as important as technology innovation itself. By combining environmental accountability, employee investment and stronger AI oversight, the company is positioning trust as a central part of its future direction.
