Virtusa New Chairman Srinivas BG takes the board

Virtusa is set for a change at the top of its board, with Srinivas BG appointed as the company’s new Chairman of the Board of Directors from October 1, 2026.

BG brings more than 40 years of global business leadership across Information Technology, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Manufacturing. His career has included leadership roles at PCCW, Infosys and ABB, where he worked across digital transformation, large business operations and acquisition integrations.

For Virtusa, the appointment comes as technology and business priorities continue to shift, particularly around AI and digital transformation.

Srinivas BG brings a broad technology leadership background

BG’s experience spans several industries rather than a single technology segment. His career includes guiding complex digital transformations, scaling multi-billion-dollar business engines and managing large-scale acquisition integrations.

That background gives the Virtusa Chairman role a wider business lens. The company said his experience in digital transformation and navigating technological disruption and geopolitical change will support the Board as Virtusa continues its next phase of growth.

BG said the rapid evolution of the technology landscape, including disruption from AI and changing business priorities, will be important as he works with the Board and leadership team.

Virtusa Board of Directors enters its next phase

BG succeeds Raj Mehta, who has served as Chairman since 2022. During his tenure, Mehta was instrumental in Virtusa’s transition from a founder-run company into a professional services organisation.

Mehta will remain an investor but will leave the Virtusa board of directors on October 1, completing a transition that has been underway for several months.

The change therefore represents more than a new board appointment. It also marks a handover between two phases of Virtusa’s development, with the company moving forward under a Chairman whose experience spans technology-led transformation and large-scale business change.

AI adds a new layer to the Chairman role

The timing of the appointment is notable within the company’s own framing of its next chapter. Virtusa has pointed to AI disruption and shifting business imperatives as part of the changing technology landscape.

For Virtusa's new chairman, that puts strategic guidance around technological change alongside the broader responsibilities of the Board. The immediate focus will be on working with Virtusa’s leadership team as the company continues its strategic evolution.

With the transition taking effect on October 1, 2026, Srinivas BG now becomes part of the company’s next phase while Raj Mehta’s period as Chairman comes to a close.
