Yotta and IntelliDB partnership targets sovereign AI databases

The Yotta and IntelliDB partnership is adding a key layer to India’s sovereign AI stack: the database. The companies are combining Yotta’s sovereign cloud with IntelliDB Enterprise’s PostgreSQL and vector database platforms to deliver a fully managed, AI-powered Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS).
The aim is straightforward. Enterprises and government organisations should be able to build and run production AI applications within India while keeping data residency, regulatory compliance and operational resilience in focus.
Sovereign AI databases become the new data foundation
As organisations adopt Generative AI, Agentic AI and intelligent automation, the database is taking on a bigger role. AI applications need to work with both structured enterprise data and vector embeddings for use cases such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search and AI agents.
The Yotta enterprise database offering combines enterprise-grade PostgreSQL with native vector database capabilities and managed cloud services. This gives organisations a single platform for modernising existing applications as well as building new AI workloads.
The partnership also strengthens Yotta’s wider sovereign AI databases strategy by adding an AI-ready database layer to its sovereign cloud, AI infrastructure, GPU cloud and enterprise AI services.
Yotta brings AI workloads under Indian control
The joint platform is designed for government, BFSI, regulated industries, enterprises and digital-native businesses. Customers can deploy AI workloads entirely within India while addressing data residency and compliance requirements.
It also supports RAG, AI agents and intelligent search applications, alongside legacy application modernisation and managed database services with automated operations and high availability.
For enterprises, the bigger point is control. The Yotta and IntelliDB partnership connects cloud infrastructure, AI compute and database services on a sovereign platform, reducing the need to manage these layers separately.
