ASUS MSME mentor Rajiv Talreja to shape PC strategy

ASUS India has appointed MSME expert and Quantum Leap founder Rajiv Talreja as ASUS MSME Mentor for the MSME segment, linking his experience with business owners to the company’s Expert Series PCs. The long-term collaboration is aimed at helping Indian MSMEs understand how purpose-built business technology can support growth.

The appointment goes beyond a conventional brand association. ASUS and Talreja spent more than a year engaging on the needs of MSMEs, while Talreja’s team also deployed Expert Series machines internally before agreeing to the collaboration.

A gap between business needs and PCs

According to ASUS, it identified a gap among small businesses and professionals that need business-grade laptops but often remain unaware that such products exist. As a result, many end up using non-business laptops bought through regular or modern retail channels.

The release points to priorities such as durability, performance, upgradability, battery backup, security and after-sales service. ASUS positioned its Expert Series around these needs, with the stated goal of reducing downtime and total cost of ownership through longer lifespans and a more business-focused ecosystem.

For the MSME market, the issue is therefore not simply access to PCs. It is also about understanding technology as a business investment rather than treating it as another operating expense.

Talreja becomes a feedback channel

Talreja’s role adds an interesting layer to the ASUS India MSME strategy. Having trained more than 12 lakh business owners through Quantum Leap’s programmes, he brings direct engagement with the MSME community into the collaboration.

His role will involve educating the ecosystem while also providing feedback to ASUS on what business owners need. That creates a two-way model where insights from MSMEs can feed into future technology and product decisions.

The approach was also tested through an independent survey of the MSME community conducted by Talreja’s team, which found the same need gap identified by ASUS.
