Canon imagePROGRAF TM targets space-constrained workflows

Large-format printing is becoming less about simply producing bigger pages and more about fitting printing, scanning and workflow needs into professional spaces. Canon India’s new Canon imagePROGRAF TM Series brings that shift into focus with six large-format printers and two new multifunction printer (MFP) models.

The TM-5610M and TM-5510M are the first MFPs in the series, combining large-format printing and built-in scanning. The range targets engineering, design, photo studio, retail and education environments where print quality and efficient use of space matter.

The new MFPs are designed to handle tasks such as digitising architectural and design drawings, copying blueprints, and reproducing posters, photographs and retail signage. Their flat-top design lets users place originals directly on the device, while front access is intended to simplify everyday operation.

The built-in scanner uses sensor compensation technology to maintain image quality and colour accuracy. Sensors with light sources on both sides help reduce the effect of shadows, wrinkles and creases. Users can also select scan modes for applications such as CAD drawings, blueprints and maps through the 5-inch touchscreen.

For businesses working with limited floor space, bringing these functions into one device changes the workflow equation. Instead of treating scanning and printing as separate requirements, the MFP models combine them in a single professional system.

Canon large format focuses on sharper output

The series uses five-colour pigment ink and introduces a new matte black pigment ink aimed at producing deeper blacks, sharper lines and clearer text in drawings. A new colour mapping technology is also designed to improve colour output for posters, including when printing on plain paper.

The wider range includes the TM-5500, TM-5600, TM-5510, TM-5515, TM-5610 and TM-5615, alongside the two MFP models.

Canon India printers add a sustainability layer

Canon is also using recycled materials in parts of the main printer body, with approximately 5% recycled iron and 25% recycled plastic.
