Fortinet Unveils FortiGate 1200G Series with FortiSASE Outpost for AI Infrastructure

The enterprise network perimeter is undergoing a structural shift driven by distributed hybrid workloads, encrypted traffic, and real-time artificial intelligence deployments. As organizations scale AI agents and microservices, east-west internal data traffic increases dramatically. FortiSASE Outpost: Sovereign Security at the Edge

Configured as a FortiSASE Outpost, the FortiGate 1200G enables hybrid security deployment options:

  • Localized Data Processing: Latency-critical or data-sensitive traffic is processed locally within the customer's private infrastructure, keeping designated logs and session states within defined geographic boundaries to meet regulatory data sovereignty rules.

  • Reduced Bandwidth Overhead: Placing on-site POPs near dense user clusters or regional offices reduces WAN transit costs by eliminating unnecessary backhauling to cloud POPs.

  • Single-Pane Management: Operating under FortiOS, both cloud-based FortiSASE POPs and local FortiSASE Outposts are centrally managed through a single interface, maintaining uniform Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies, threat intelligence sharing via FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services, and automated investigation using FortiAI.
