Genpact banking analyst suite brings agentic AI to AML

Genpact is bringing agentic AI into regulated banking operations with the launch of Genpact Banking Analyst Suite, an enterprise solution designed to support financial crime and risk workflows. Its first module, Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst, is now generally available and focuses on helping banks investigate anti-money laundering (AML) alerts faster while keeping human oversight and auditability at the centre.

The move comes as financial institutions deal with growing alert volumes, more complex financial crime and tighter regulatory scrutiny. Rather than simply scoring alerts, the solution is designed to support the first level of investigation and provide analysts with a decision-ready recommendation, documented rationale and audit trail.

Genpact transaction monitoring analyst targets AML workflows

The Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst uses AI agents based on how AML investigations are conducted at scale. It coordinates multiple agents to assess customer behaviour, analyse transactions, validate customer profiles, review previous alerts and recommend the next steps.

However, the system does not make regulated decisions on its own. Human analysts remain responsible for final decisions, keeping human judgement in the loop for cases that require deeper review.

This approach reflects a broader shift toward Agentic AI for banking, where AI is being used to handle repetitive investigation tasks while leaving higher-risk decisions to trained professionals.

Agentic AI aims to reduce repetitive AML work

For in-scope AML investigations, Genpact expects the solution to reduce handling time by up to 80% and total cost of ownership by up to 40%. It is also designed to make investigations more consistent and defensible by documenting the reasoning behind each recommendation and maintaining an audit trail.

The practical goal is to move analysts away from repetitive alert processing and give them more time to focus on complex cases where human expertise is needed.
