HCLTech Global Technology Centre fuels AI innovation in finance

HCLTech has expanded its India presence with the launch of its HCLTech Global Technology Centre in Gujarat’s GIFT City, signalling a deeper focus on AI-led digital transformation for the financial services sector. Beyond serving global clients, the new centre reflects a broader strategy to combine technology innovation with local talent development.
The new facility will deliver AI-powered solutions for financial services while acting as a hub for developing next-generation technologies. Its launch also reinforces GIFT City’s growing position as a destination for technology and financial innovation.
HCLTech Global Technology Centre strengthens AI in financial services
The centre has been designed to support global financial services clients through AI-driven solutions while fostering innovation in emerging technologies. Alongside client delivery, HCLTech plans to use the facility to develop future-ready technology capabilities that align with evolving enterprise requirements.
The inauguration was attended by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi, HCLTech CEO and Managing Director C Vijayakumar, and GIFT City Managing Director and Group CEO Shri Sanjay Kaul.
HCLTech IIT Gandhinagar MoU builds future tech talent
Alongside the launch, HCLTech signed MoUs with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar and Gujarat Technological University to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
The partnerships will focus on research in AI in financial services, software development, and skill building. Students and faculty will receive opportunities for hands-on industry exposure while contributing to global digital transformation projects. The initiative also supports Tech talent development in Gujarat, creating stronger links between academic learning and enterprise technology needs.
HCLTech AI Lab Gujarat reflects a long-term innovation strategy
The announcement also includes the launch of an AI Lab that complements the Global Technology Centre. Together, these initiatives aim to strengthen Gujarat’s innovation ecosystem while supporting financial data engineering and AI-led enterprise solutions.
According to HCLTech CEO C Vijayakumar, Gujarat’s policy environment and GIFT City’s infrastructure make it an ideal location to engineer future AI solutions for financial services while building a strong local technology ecosystem.
