IBM FutureNow Centre opens in Visakhapatnam to boost AI consulting

Technology investments increasingly follow talent, not just infrastructure. IBM FutureNow Centre has opened in Visakhapatnam, reinforcing IBM's long-term investment in India's digital transformation while expanding consulting and technology delivery capabilities for global clients.
The new centre will support services across artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud, software engineering, cybersecurity, data and analytics, enterprise transformation, platform engineering, service integration, quality engineering and user experience.
IBM FutureNow Centre strengthens AI and digital transformation
The IBM FutureNow Centre Visakhapatnam reflects IBM's strategy of expanding innovation hubs beyond traditional metro cities. According to the company, the centre will act as an AI-first consulting and cloud transformation hub while drawing on the city's growing digital talent pool, academic institutions and evolving technology ecosystem.
IBM said the facility will also strengthen its presence in Andhra Pradesh while creating opportunities for skilled professionals and supporting global consulting engagements.
The centre was inaugurated by Nara Lokesh, Minister of IT, Electronics and HRD, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of Sandip Patel, IBM India Managing Director, IBM India & South Asia, along with other government and IBM leaders.
A broader push for AI-driven consulting
IBM said the centre aligns with its broader focus on helping clients accelerate IBM AI digital transformation initiatives. Sandip Patel noted that India has an opportunity to combine talent, innovation and technology to drive the country's digital ambitions, adding that the new facility reinforces India's position as a global technology delivery destination.
