Luca Simonelli as Senior Vice President Signals Fortinet's APAC Growth Focus

Asia Pacific has become one of the world's fastest-changing cybersecurity markets, driven by AI adoption, cloud migration, and critical infrastructure modernization. Against this backdrop, Fortinet's appointment of Luca Simonelli as Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific is more than a leadership change. It reflects the company's strategy to strengthen regional execution as enterprises increasingly demand integrated networking and cybersecurity solutions.

A Leadership Appointment Aligned With Regional Growth

Based in Singapore, Simonelli will lead Fortinet's sales organization across Japan, North Asia, and South Asia, covering Southeast Asia, India & SAARC, Australia, and New Zealand. His responsibilities include driving regional strategy, expanding customer and partner relationships, and supporting Fortinet's long-term growth across one of its most important markets.

The appointment comes as organizations across APAC continue investing in AI-driven transformation, cloud security, and cyber resilience, creating new opportunities for vendors that can deliver unified security platforms.

Bringing Three Decades of Industry Experience

Simonelli brings more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning cybersecurity, networking, SASE, cloud security, and managed services. Before returning to Fortinet, he held a senior leadership role at GCX Managed Services and has built technology businesses across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific.

His return is also notable because he previously spent nearly eight years at Fortinet leading the company's EMEA operations. That familiarity with the business gives him experience in scaling teams while maintaining customer and partner engagement across diverse markets.

Supporting the Next Phase of Enterprise Security

Fortinet believes Asia Pacific will remain a strategic growth region as enterprises modernize infrastructure and adopt AI technologies. The company says Simonelli's leadership experience will help strengthen customer engagement while expanding collaboration with partners across the region.

Simonelli highlighted Fortinet's integrated approach to networking, security, and AI, saying the platform helps organizations reduce complexity while improving cyber resilience. He also emphasized the opportunity to support customers as they secure the next phase of digital transformation.
