Orient Technologies makes a USD 5 million cybersecurity expansion move

Orient Technologies is expanding its cybersecurity business after signing a three-year contract worth USD 3.15 million with Securonix. The company also plans additional investments as the business grows, taking the total planned investment to approximately USD 5 million during the expansion.

Under the expanded relationship, Orient Technologies will become Securonix's exclusive Value-Added Distributor (VAD) and joint go-to-market partner in India. The company will also build capabilities across implementation, professional services, technical support, managed security and Security Operations Centre (SOC) enablement.

Orient Technologies to build end-to-end cybersecurity capabilities

The expanded partnership builds on Orient Technologies' existing relationship with Securonix as a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). Under the new mandate, Orient will lead distribution and joint go-to-market activities in India, support enterprise deployments and integrations and enable regional partners.

As part of the expansion, Orient Technologies plans to invest approximately USD 5 million as the business scales. The company also plans to hire around 100 cybersecurity professionals and aims to increase its customer footprint by 12%.

Ajay Sawant, Chairman & Managing Director, Orient Technologies Limited said, “Our expanded relationship with Securonix represents the next stage of Orient's cybersecurity journey. What began as a managed security relationship is evolving into a broader engagement spanning distribution, implementation, professional services and security operations.”

He added that the planned investment will help the company build the talent, capabilities and partner ecosystem required to expand its cybersecurity business.

The company plans to combine Securonix's AI-powered platform with its own implementation and managed security capabilities. The aim is to support customers across the security lifecycle, from deployment and integration to ongoing security operations.

Toby Weiss, CEO, Securonix said, “AI is changing the operating environment for security teams on both sides of the equation. Adversaries have access to tools that can help them move faster, while enterprises are under pressure to use AI responsibly to improve their own defences.”

He added that the expanded partnership will give customers in India access to Securonix technology along with local expertise for deployment, integration and security operations.

Orient Technologies said the expanded relationship strengthens cybersecurity as a key part of its wider enterprise technology portfolio. The company is also certified and authorised to sell Securonix solutions in India and the United States, further expanding the scope of the partnership.
