Smarten Power Systems’ first-quarter update for FY2026–27 points to a business focused on building capacity around changing demand. The Indian power backup and solar energy solutions company sold around 1.18 lakh units during the quarter ended June 30, 2026, while expanding its distribution, warehousing, manufacturing and service operations.
The quarter also brought new products and a stronger push into solar and energy storage. Together, these moves suggest that the company is working on multiple parts of its operating model rather than relying on sales growth alone.
Smarten Power Systems business update puts distribution in focus
Demand for home UPS systems, solar power conditioning units, batteries and solar panels led sales during the quarter. The company also saw higher demand for power backup solutions amid elevated summer temperatures and increased electricity use across parts of northern India.
To support this demand, Smarten commissioned a 5,200 sq. ft. warehouse in Gurugram, Haryana. The facility is expected to strengthen inventory and logistics capabilities in northern and north-western markets.
The company also added 32 new distributors across nine states, extending its network across North, East, West and South India. For a business serving both residential and commercial users, this wider distribution footprint could help improve market access as demand patterns evolve.
New solar products add another growth layer
Smarten also launched the HELIX 1100–1250 series, a new range of MPPT-based solar power conditioning units. Two new battery models were introduced as well, expanding the company's solar and energy storage portfolio.
The product additions come alongside a focus on manufacturing capacity. In June 2026, Smarten recorded its highest monthly in-house battery production at around 6,600 units at its Baddi facility in Himachal Pradesh.
The company is also developing a new manufacturing facility, which is expected to add production capacity once commissioned.
Smarten Power Systems builds stronger service support
Rajnish Sharma, Whole Time Director and CEO, said the company is focused on keeping its operational capabilities aligned with changing energy consumption patterns and the growing emphasis on energy resilience.
That approach is visible across the quarter's developments, from warehousing and distribution to manufacturing, new products and after-sales service.
Smarten also expanded its in-house after-sales service capabilities while continuing to work with its franchise service centre network. The broader picture is clear: the company is building capacity across the customer journey, from product availability to support after purchase.
For Smarten, Q1 FY27 was therefore less about a single development and more about strengthening the operating base needed to support its next phase of expansion.
