Vertiv Delhi masterclass explores the AI infrastructure shift
AI is pushing data centres into a new phase. As workloads become more complex and power-intensive, the infrastructure supporting them must evolve too. That was the central theme at the Vertiv Delhi Masterclass, where consulting engineers, infrastructure specialists, and industry leaders came together to discuss what it will take to build AI-ready digital infrastructure.
Organised with the Delhi chapter of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), the event focused on how AI is changing data centre design, power architectures, cooling, and infrastructure management.
AI-ready data centre infrastructure faces new design pressures
The shift toward AI is creating fresh challenges for infrastructure teams. Higher rack densities and more demanding workloads are forcing organisations to rethink how data centres are designed, powered, cooled, and managed.
Sessions at the Masterclass covered thermal management, liquid cooling, resilient power infrastructure, and the future of AI-enabled data centres. The discussions also looked at energy-efficient and carbon-reducing power strategies and advanced cooling solutions for high-density environments.
For consulting engineers and infrastructure professionals, the message was clear: AI readiness is not just about computing capacity. It also depends on the supporting power and cooling systems that keep these environments running.
Liquid cooling technologies tackle high-density data centre workloads
The event also highlighted the growing role of advanced cooling technologies as rack densities increase. Participants explored the Vertiv 360AI model, reference designs, and digital twin technology, while also engaging with Vertiv technical professionals and engineers.
These discussions point to a wider need for closer collaboration between technology providers, consultants, and infrastructure teams as organisations plan next-generation facilities.
Vertiv Consultant Portal supports AI-ready infrastructure planning
Vertiv also showcased its Consultant Portal, which provides consulting engineers with technical documentation, design tools, BIM resources, and access to Vertiv experts during project planning and specification stages.
More than 80 professionals from over 50 organisations attended the Delhi edition, including senior consultants, design engineers, technical heads, and decision-makers involved in digital infrastructure projects.
With the Masterclass Series now set to expand to Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai, Vertiv is continuing its focus on industry knowledge sharing. The larger takeaway is straightforward: as AI workloads grow, the conversation around data centre infrastructure is moving beyond servers to the power, cooling, design, and expertise needed to support them.
