Tenable and Anthropic partnership bets big on agentic AI
The cybersecurity industry is entering a new phase where speed matters as much as visibility. As AI-powered attacks grow more advanced, traditional security operations are struggling to keep pace. That reality sits at the center of the new Tenable and Anthropic partnership, announced as part of Tenable’s broader push into agentic AI-driven cybersecurity.
The collaboration brings Claude-powered workflows into Tenable Hexa AI, the agentic engine behind the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. Instead of simply identifying risks, the platform is being positioned to help organizations prioritize, orchestrate, and automate remediation decisions faster and at larger scale.
From Exposure Visibility to Automated Action
Security teams today are flooded with alerts, fragmented telemetry, and expanding attack surfaces. Tenable’s strategy appears focused on reducing the gap between identifying a threat and responding to it.
Tenable Hexa AI operates through the company’s Exposure Data Fabric, which combines native telemetry, third-party information, and insights from Tenable Research. By integrating Claude into the workflow, Tenable wants to push exposure management beyond analytics into coordinated machine-speed action.
The company says the platform will support real-world cybersecurity operations such as exposure analysis, remediation orchestration, and risk prioritization across modern environments. That reflects a larger industry movement toward AI systems that assist not just with detection, but with operational decision-making.
Why Agentic AI Is Becoming Central to Cybersecurity
One of the biggest themes emerging from EXPOSURE 2026 is the growing role of frontier AI in both cyber offense and defense. Mark Thurmond, co-CEO of Tenable, said the shrinking gap between exposure discovery and exploitation is forcing organizations to rethink traditional security models. According to the company, the partnership with Anthropic is intended to accelerate both research and development efforts as well as future roadmap innovation for Tenable Hexa AI.
Anthropic’s Deputy CISO Jason Clinton also highlighted how organizations increasingly need AI integrated directly into security operations instead of treating it as a separate layer.
