Tenable launches OPEN ecosystem to unify disconnected enterprise security data

Tenable Holdings, an exposure management company, has announced the launch of the Tenable Open Partner Exchange Network (OPEN). This initiative marks the next evolution of the company's technology partner ecosystem, designed to help enterprise organisations unify distributed security data, accelerate automated, AI-driven workflows, and operationalise exposure management across existing multi-vendor technology stacks.
As the speed and volume of cyber threats escalate due to advancements in artificial intelligence, security operations centres (SOCs) increasingly encounter operational complexity stemming from fragmented tools and disconnected internal processes. The Tenable OPEN framework expands the operational footprint of the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform by creating an open infrastructure for continuous data exchange, multi-source integration, and cross-platform orchestration.
Bi-directional Telemetry via the Open connector
The framework launches with a foundation of more than 330 validated technology integrations. A primary core component of this ecosystem evolution is the release of the Open Connector capability. This feature enables bi-directional data pipelines across enterprise environments:
Telemetry Ingestion: Allows customers to ingest third-party telemetry, custom logs, and internal asset inventories into the Tenable One platform to eliminate corporate visibility blind spots.
Insight Exportation: Enables the direct export of unified exposure insights into downstream analytics platforms, security workflows, and automated IT remediation systems.
By connecting distributed data, context, and subsequent operational actions directly across the technology stack, the architecture is engineered to streamline daily security operations and accelerate coordinated remediation efforts.
“No single vendor can see everything. The data that defines cyber risk is inherently distributed across the enterprise. That’s why openness is foundational to our strategy,” stated Eric Doerr, Chief Product Officer at Tenable. “With OPEN and the Open Connector, organisations can bring together data from virtually any security tool, including third-party technologies, internal systems and emerging AI-driven workflows. We don’t ask customers to replace their existing security stack to get value from Tenable. We connect to it, unify the data and turn it into actionable exposure intelligence.”
Strategic alignment with global cybersecurity alliances
The open-first approach championed by the platform has garnered operational validation from major global Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and threat intelligence networks:
Continuous Threat Intelligence Integration: Integrating external threat data helps teams isolate active vectors.“AI hasn't just changed the scale of attacks; it has accelerated adversary operations to machine speed. Defenders need intelligence they can operationalise just as quickly," noted Doug Fleming, Director of Global Ecosystems and Alliances at Recorded Future. He added that incorporating the Recorded Future Intelligence Graph into the platform enables joint customers to focus on the 1% of exposures that adversaries are actively targeting.
Supply Chain and External Risk Mapping: Vendor and third-party infrastructure vulnerabilities represent significant operational blind spots.Greg Keshian, Chief Product Officer at Bitsight, observed: “Third-party and supply chain exposure have become one of the most important drivers of enterprise cyber risk. Bitsight’s external telemetry across attack surface exposure, supply chain relationships, and threat activity gives organisations critical context. Through the Tenable OPEN ecosystem, customers can combine this external intelligence with internal exposure data to better identify interconnected risk.”
Eliminating SOC Friction: Consolidating security metrics helps prevent tool fatigue within enterprise security operations. Kevin Murphy, Director of Global ISVs and OEM Partners at Splunk, emphasised the need for operational execution over raw storage: “Security teams are drowning in alerts, but you can’t pivot your way out of an AI-powered attack. Data without action is just expensive storage. Tenable OPEN thrives where others fail because it rejects the mindset of rigid, restrictive APIs. By unifying data regardless of source, we’re eliminating the operational friction that plagues the SOC.”
Ecosystem Information
The Tenable OPEN platform supports data aggregation from code security platforms, cloud environments, identity repositories, and core IT infrastructure systems. Organisations seeking additional technical specifications or program enrollment details regarding the technology ecosystem can access official resources at the company's dedicated portal.
