Tenable takes exposure management toward autonomous security

Exposure Management is moving towards a more continuous model as Tenable introduces new always-on capabilities for Tenable Hexa AI, the agentic engine of the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. The new capabilities are designed to give security teams a connected fleet of agents that can coordinate complex, multi-step security tasks with less manual intervention.
The shift addresses a common challenge in AI-led security operations. While AI tools can provide insights and actions, many still require analysts to trigger workflows manually or repeatedly enter context. Tenable's approach is to move from actively managing AI tools towards orchestrating persistent workflows that can run continuously.
Always-on agentic fleet moves beyond manual security tasks
The Always-on Agentic Fleet is built around a connected group of agents that can work together rather than operate as isolated tools. Tenable Hexa AI uses contextual memory to retain an enterprise's risk context, priorities, and settings across sessions, reducing the need for repeated prompts.
The system can schedule tasks that can be prompted and run complex workflows across different security areas. This includes scanning for critical exposures, analysing risks based on exploitability and reachability, triggering remediation, and checking whether patches have been successfully applied.
Autonomous security agents target recurring risk
The use of autonomous Security Agents also extends to preemptive risk reduction. Tenable Hexa AI can run weekly drift analysis, identify vulnerabilities linked with identity exposures, and generate tickets to address critical deviations.
The system can also create tailored weekly executive and compliance briefings using multi-domain context. This gives leadership a regular view of security health and compliance without requiring analysts to compile the information each time manually.
The broader direction points towards Continuous asset discovery and ongoing exposure management rather than periodic security checks. By allowing autonomous routines to operate overnight and on weekends, Tenable aims to keep critical exposure management tasks running even when security teams are offline.
The approach is also designed to reduce the workload on analysts. Recurring and multi-step tasks can be automated, allowing security teams to spend more time on strategic priorities while the agentic system handles routine operational work.
Vulnerability prioritisation connects security with IT
Vulnerability prioritisation is another key part of the approach. Tenable Hexa AI can analyse scans and triage risks based on factors such as exploitability and reachability, helping teams focus on exposures that require greater attention.
The system is also designed to connect security and IT workflows by automatically analysing threats and verifying patch success after an IT ticket is closed. This aims to reduce mean time to resolution and close the loop between identifying a critical exposure and confirming that it has been addressed.
