CrowdStrike Chief Product Officer AJ Shipley to Lead AI Security Push

As artificial intelligence reshapes enterprise technology, cybersecurity vendors are also redefining their product strategies. The appointment of AJ Shipley as CrowdStrike Chief Product Officer reflects this shift, placing an experienced cybersecurity product leader at the centre of the company's next phase of innovation. Shipley will lead CrowdStrike's product organisation and accelerate development across the Falcon platform as enterprises increasingly rely on AI-powered applications and workflows.

AI Adoption Is Changing Cybersecurity Priorities

CrowdStrike believes the rapid adoption of AI is expanding the cybersecurity landscape. Every AI model, agent, and automated workflow introduces new endpoints, identities, and attack surfaces that organizations must secure. At the same time, security teams are turning to AI to improve threat detection and response.

The company says these parallel trends require platforms that can both secure AI systems and use AI to strengthen enterprise defences. Building on Falcon's existing capabilities across endpoint protection, identity security, cloud security, and next-generation SIEM, CrowdStrike plans to expand its leadership in securing the emerging agentic enterprise.

Experienced Product Leadership Joins Falcon Platform

Shipley brings more than two decades of cybersecurity product experience to CrowdStrike. Before joining the company, he served as Chief Product Officer at Splunk Security. Earlier, he led Cisco's Threat Detection and Response portfolio, where he helped build Cisco XDR and contributed to the company's investment strategy surrounding the acquisition of Splunk. He also held senior product leadership positions at Palo Alto Networks.

According to CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz, the company's platform advantage is built on its endpoint sensor network, real-time telemetry, intelligence, and expert validation. He believes Shipley's experience makes him well positioned to lead innovation as AI becomes a central part of enterprise cybersecurity.

A Platform Strategy Built for the AI Era

Shipley said organisations are entering a new phase where securing AI adoption has become just as important as defending traditional IT infrastructure. He noted that Falcon's unified architecture is designed to provide the speed, scale, and simplicity enterprises need to secure AI-driven environments while continuing to stop breaches.
